What are your thoughts on "Theme Cars" and what was your favorite ??
At carshows my car has always been referred to Bonnie & Clyde , Al Capone , or gangster car by onlookers.
I've thought about doing a Moonshiners theme.
Something subtle like a mounted shotgun and case of jars on the backseat.
Maybe even a early police car. Some are doing that with the help from the highway patrol for period correctness.
Not sure if Utah had any moonshiners or if they even had police cars in 32. Might have to look into local history.

Might not really be considered a "theme" car, but I've been looking off and on for a LTD so I can build the Wagon Queen Family Truckster and drive to Wallyworld!

I've never been a fan of cute stuff like crybaby dolls or things that look like what they are not, hidden disc brakes or injectors that look like carbs. I did have a '40 Ford sedan delivery that I painted Creek Town Fuzz and a big star on the doors like it was a paddy wagon. The Walnut Creek police didn't see the humor in it. Another bad cop story. If I had a Bonnie & Clyde car I'd want the one with the bullet holes in it. Where I grew up they were not folk heroes they were thieves and murderers.
Moonshiners were a different thing. They were often family. Every place that restricts the consumption of alcohol has bootleggers. Texas still has some strange alcohol laws. In the '50s my brother, our cousin, and their friends often would load their car with beer in Amarillo in a "wet" county and drive through "dry" counties to Lubbock and sell the beer to Texas Tech students to make money. The cousin got into it big time and built a '53 Ford four door, normal looking, with hidden compartments and an olds engine. He got retired pretty quick. A cop here in charge of the local DARE program used his own money to build what he dubbed the "Barney Fife" car a '61 Ford cop car. The other cops made him cover all of the police looking stuff in order to drive it from school to school to teach the DARE classes. So maybe theme cars come with issues akin to lowered cars and good cops can have problems with bad cops. ;D

Very nice and I can tell it's a '32 by the hood I think? :) I always wanted a fire truck just to have all the beautiful gold leaf and pin stripes.
