207 front motor mount ??
« on: December 17, 2014, 01:26:01 PM »
In the process of switching parts over from my 194 to my 207 .
One of the problems I have run into is my 194 only had 1 motor mount up font under the crank pully. .. While the 207 has 2 motor mount holes under the pully.
  My question is.
Would it be easier to take the front motor mount plate off ( that sits behind the timing cover ) and put it on the 207.??
Or keep everything the way it is and drill two holes in my front cross member on my 31 and find something that will work for motor mount bolts ??
Thanks for your time and suggestions guys..

Using the motor mount off of the 194 may be easier, but configuring two motor mounts for the 207 may be better.
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

OK i am going to stick my neck out here again and say first off i am not sure what a 207 is  I think its a TRUCK engine and yes it had two mounts in the front I believe i have a cradle somewhere around here. Also If i may say the 59 corvette has a very similar front mount it bolts behind the crank dampener and has two shelves one on each side that bolts to the frame via rubber coushione.(check out front motor mounds streight axle corvette) By the way with the 207 does it rely on the transmission mount or does it have leaf mounts off of the side of the Bellhousing.   vette59jdwl
